Over-Shroud Honeycomb Seals for Steam Turbines of Power Plants

 

Purpose:

These permit to substantially increase the equipment service life, and to reduce operational costs, associated with the equipment maintenance.

Characteristics:

Allow a contact between the sealing surfaces (interference) without any damage to the structure efficiency.

Allow one to substantially reduce the relative gap over the sealing surfaces from and to proportionally reduce leakage.

Increase the turbine efficiency, safety and reliability of its operation in particular and those of the power plant on the whole, which makes it possible to avoid disassembly of turbine flow-through section and expensive repairs.
