Explosives Detection System

Purpose:

System is intended for:

- examination of hand luggage and suspicious subjects in passengers luggage on presence of explosive, radioactive and sharing substances;

- inclusions in general control line of hand luggage of passengers at the second stage after preliminary check of hand luggage on X-ray TV unit.

In a basis of system work was put the method of neutron radiating analysis.

System:

- meets all safety requirements, including radiating;

- it is certificated and recommended for use at the airports.

Basic characteristics:

Steady explosives detection and special nuclear materials, without dependence from their form, kind and accepted measures of masking.

Minimally detectable amount of explosives no more than 200-300 gram at average time of detection <12-17 seconds.

Minimally detectable amount of explosives in a special mode - from 100 gram at average time of detection <30-35 seconds (time of examination depends on a source of neutrons and installed threshold of minimally found out weight of explosives).

Minimally detectable amount of special nuclear materials no more than 0.3 gram (isotope of uranium U-235) at average time of detection <2 seconds. Opportunity of detection of radioactive substances with minimally significant radio-activity.

As a source of neutrons can be used California (Cf-252) isotope or neutron generator.
